The Good News Newsletter

Alums & Friends publishes a bi-monthly newsletter designed to reconnect with alums, share stories about former classmates and let them know about the good things happening at St. Matthew’s School today.  If you are not currently receiving the newsletter, please let us know and we’ll add you to the mailing list.  The past issues of the newsletter are available online for review.   In addition, we’ve posted several special issues alums may find interesting.

The fire that burned down St. Matthew’s Church in 1968 was a major event in the church’s history.  This issue includes a collection of remembrances from many who were there that day along with photos during and after the fire.  Especially poignant, Fr. Steve shares the tragic story of the young many who set the fire.

Honoring Our Alumni in Law Enforcement (July/Aug ’10)

When St. Matthew’s alum Tom Smith (’72) was named St. Paul Police Chief last May, we recognized his accomplishment by dedicating the newsletter to alums in law enforcement.  There were even more than we thought and many are high ranking officers in local police and sheriff’s offices.  How did a small school like St. Matthew’s produce so many high ranking officers?  Read this issue to find out.
