Women of Saint Matt’s
Summer is over and a new season begins for the women for Saint Matthew’s Rosary/CCW. All women of the parish are invited to our first meeting on Tuesday, September 10th at 6:45 pm in the Social Hall. We are a group of all ages that specializes in hospitality to the parish. We look forward to seeing our current members, but are encouraging new members to come to this meeting. We will be talking about our Fall Festival and our important work at the Festival. This is a great time for new members to join us, come see what we are about and lend new ideas and inspiration to our group. Let’s keep our parish growing!
St. Matthew's Rosary Society
Saint Matthew's Rosary Society has been a parish women's organization for over 50 years. All women of the parish and their guests are welcome to attend and/or join Rosary Society meetings, which are held the second Tuesday of the month at 6:45 pm in the Social Hall.
The Rosary Society raises funds through dues, a Christmas Bake Sale, Tea and Boutique and donations from serving funeral luncheons in the Saint Matthew's Social Hall. Some of the funds raised are used at funeral luncheons to provide a comforting atmosphere for grieving families.
Annual donations are made to the annual Saint Matthew's Fix It Fundraiser Community Dinner, Neighbors Inc., Mary's Pence, Saint Mary's Mission in Red Lake, MN, archdiocesan mission needs in Venezuela and clean water in developing countries. The Rosary Society also provides the hosts and wine needed for our worship services. In addition, the Rosary Society coordinates annual parish drives supporting Our Lady of Peace Cancer Home and families in Appalachia.
Do you know what they are? Do you where they are? Care Notes are provided to you by the Rosary Society and they are free of charge. They are informational booklets on many subjects and are located on the southeast wall of the church. A few of the booklets are:
- Let’s Reach Out To Hurting Families In Our Midst
- Getting Through The First Week After A Funeral
- When Death Comes Unexpectedly
- Climbing Up From Depression
- Money: Handle With Care
- A Dying Person's Bill Of Rights
- Dealing With Anger
- and many more
