Faith Formation for Youth

Faith Formation Program

St. Matt’s Provides Catholic Religious Education to Families on St. Paul’s West Side and Beyond

Our Youth Faith Formation program is one of many ways St. Matt’s supports families who want to raise their children in the Catholic faith. Sometimes referred to as catechism, or CCD, our weekly classes in Faith Formation can begin in kindergarten and continue through 10th grade. All children are welcome to attend, but it is intended for children who aren’t currently receiving Catholic religious education at school. Among its purposes are to help children learn and grow in the Catholic faith, build community among students, and have fun while learning about God.

Faith Formation classes meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 7:45 pm from late September until early May at St. Matthew’s Parish Center.

Preparing for Sacraments

Families who want their children to receive the sacraments are required to register for and participate in sacramental preparation. This requirement applies to all children, whether they attend public or Catholic schools, including our affiliated grade school, Community of Saints (COS).

All students must be baptized in order to receive additional sacraments. Please contact Angela Rakow as soon as possible if your child has not been baptized and you would like to register them for sacramental preparation.
